Our Mission

North American Junior Golf (NAJG) [formerly known as North Georgia Junior Golf (NGJG)] was founded in Athens, GA in 2011.  Our mission is to grow junior golf throughout area communities by providing girls and boys, aged 6-18 and of all skill levels, the opportunity to discover the game, enhance and refine their skills, and advance to the competitive level of school-based competition and beyond. Our vision and commitment is to conduct professionally-run junior tournaments that are affordable and convenient; played on excellent courses that are always close to home. Our tour offers a top-notch experience that consistently exceeds our players’, parents’, and partners’ expectations.

Most importantly, our juniors will learn the proper rules and etiquette, practice good sportsmanship and respect for opponents, and acquire the positive values associated with the great game of golf.

Our History

Founded in 2011 as the Oconee Junior Golf League; with the onset of our Tour in 2012 as the Athens Area Junior Golf Tour;  we became  North Georgia Junior Golf (NGJG) in 2018.  After growing to a region-wide audience in just a few years, we became North American Junior Golf (NAJG) in 2020.

NAJG strives to provide junior golfers throughout area communities with opportunities to compete in tournaments close to home, while encouraging and assisting juniors with developing their games.

The NAJG Tour conducts one and two day events with Spring, Summer and Fall series tournaments that are played mostly on Saturdays and/or Sundays so that family and friends can be involved. Juniors ages 6-18 play from tees with yardages that are suitable to their age. Younger age divisions play 9-holes with stroke limits; and older divisions play traditional stroke play to help develop their games for high school and college golf, with 2-day events ranked on Junior Golf Scoreboard.

The NAJG Tour conducts more than 35 tournaments annually, including the annual Greater North Georgia Junior Golf Championship. Our tournaments are played on the highest ranked courses in the region , with examples such as: The Landing at Reynolds Lake Oconee, Cuscowilla, Harbor Club, Château Élan Golf Club, The Georgia Club, The University of Georgia Golf Course, Currahee Club, Jennings Mill Country Club, Monroe Golf & Country Club,  Chimney Oaks GC, The Creek Golf Course at Hard Labor, Dublin CC, Kinderlou Forest GC, Sunset CC, Rivermont Golf & CC to name a few.

The NAJG Tour also conducts numerous sanctioned High School Team events, including the prestigious GA-SC Cup.

One of our other organizations is North American College Golf, where we conduct events for college players and teams.

The NAJG League takes place in the Spring and Fall. Junior golfers aged 6-15 are placed on teams (similar to little league) with weekly practices and scramble matches. It’s perfect for juniors who want to learn how to play golf or that need to develop their game. The NAJG League is popular among kids and is a lot of fun.

The NAJG Academy provides one-on-one instruction from certified Teaching Pros, as well as group clinics, camps, and recruiting seminars.
